My view about the recent change to the Medium Partner Program

I came to this site in early 2019 and joined the Partner Program in March of 2019. I have written several essays before in my life, several of them dissecting a scene from a TV show. I have written personal stories, excepts from my life, deeply personal. I have written several notebooks about a long spanning story that is unfortunately lost to the sands of time. I have also written fan based stories of my favorite shows (To which I will never say under what username).

This is really the first time in my life that I was able to be paid for my work.

I admit that what I’m earning here is significantly less that those who have been going at it for several years. But, I have been more than excited at the fact that now I’m reaching a new audience, in particular due to the several articles I’ve written about Channel Awesome and the multitude of former producers of the site. They’re my best performing articles in terms of views.

For the article about the summeration of #ChangetheChannel, I had over 1,000 views, several hundreds during the first few days of posting it. Several other in the same topic has hundreds of unique viewers.

In contrast, the other articles that I’ve written of has earned more for far less views. But the distinction is clear. That claps helped earn…
