Movie Poster for the Movie

I have the feels, and it’s complex.

It’s hard to really talk about the movie without giving some context as to why I am talking about this so late after it had aired at the beginning of September. My roommates and I are big fans of the school, like really big. I was a fan since the live airing of season 1, but I struggled with watching it live since that time due to the odd concept of ‘Steven Bombs’. A concept meaning that there’s a longer period of time in between watching episodes which were spaced far too closely to my liking. It felt like watching a British show. I did eventually finish the show.

But, after maratoning the whole show with them, up to “Change Your Mind”, I felt appreciation as to how this show evolved, from the very beginning. I never truly realized just how much things have changed in this show. From Steven eating a cookie cat for his powers to activate, to facing off against White Diamond. Everyone changes, some gradual, some very extreme-like (*Coughs* Lars *Coughs*) but that works well. People that seemed one dimensional were fleshed out, for good and for ill. It also brought to light something that I appreciate creativity, but hate emotionally.
